Martha arrived safe and sound last night and we’ve had a great day today together. The weather was absolutely beautiful! We went to the park, shopped til we dropped and ate a lot…once at the coldstone creamery:). I took my computer in today and it’s going to need a major cleaning…I’ve been told that the situation I encountered is happening to many people and truthfully there is nothing that I could have done about it. Once the pop up comes up the virus has already taken hold of your computer so no matter what I would’ve clicked on the deed was done. Somehow I found comfort in this fact…at the same time it’s a bit disarming…it could happen to anybody at anytime basically and you have no control once it appears. I guess having anti virus stuff on your computer would help…but even then it won’t totally prevent what happened to me. It was a comfort to find out that my technological ignorance wasn’t the source of the problem after all. And I’m thankful that because of my credit union catching on quickly they didn’t end up getting any money from me. So…now I’ve just had to shell out the money to have my computer cleaned and I’ve had antivirus stuff put on it that will hopefully prevent future problems. So…in three or four days I’ll be able to get back to normal…hopefully!!
in the process I think I found a netbook that I might get for future use and traveling…I’m still pondering about that one.
I mentioned a few days back that I’m reading “To Kill a Mockingbird” and I have to tell you…it’s a great book…ok it’s a classic so obviously many others have thought the same thing…but now I’ve added my amen:).
Tomorrow we’re headed to church and probably hanging out at home…this has been the perfect pick me up for this time of year having martha come. She brought Lauren a quilt and Lauren loves it…put it on her bed. Martha’s making one for each grand child and since Lauren is the oldest she got to get hers first. Lydia has picked out her pattern this weekend so she’s looking forward to getting a quilt in the future. I think someday when I’m an emptynester I might do some quilting…looks like a fun hobby, we’ll see.
Hope your day was wonderful…that you got to enjoy the beautiful weather…looks like another great day tomorrow!!
Love,
Ruth

    your day sounded wonderful.

mom and i started this morning with a brisk one hour walk (i actually wore her out a bit…). then we went to an antique store in jerseyville to fill a grocery bag for $5 of ‘treasures’… mine had a wooden coke flat, about 30 pieces of vintage sheet music, a wooden bowl, a small wooden box, 4 player piano rolls in boxes, a hardback book, 2 hardback children’s books, a vintage bingo set, 3 antique glass bottles and a vintage alphabet set of rubber stamps. i also got 2 printer block boxes. all for under $20. caiti was thrilled!!
then i went to my favorite park to walk and spend some quiet time… then a frappe and book time at b&n. josh called and i went home to get mom so that we could go see his place and had dinner out.
full day but a great day… loving this sunshine. hopefully tomorrow i will get some more walking in!!
see you in the morning, can’t wait to see lauren’s quilt.
love to all FOUR of you jackson girls!!
